LCA is a two-year Leaving Certificate programme available to students who wish to follow a practical programme with a strong vocational emphasis. The programme aims to recognise the talents of all students and provide opportunities for development in terms of responsibility, self-esteem and self-knowledge and to help students apply what they learn in the real world. It is an innovative programme in the way students learn, in what they learn and in the way their achievements are assessed.
To acknowledge and celebrate the work of our Leaving Certificate Applied students, DDLETB is organising a Display of LCA Student Work on Thursday 13th March 2014 between 10.30 and 11.30 am at the DDLETB Head Office - 1 Tuansgate, Belgard Square East, Tallaght. The display will exhibit examples of student work, showcasing their achievements in areas such as Art and Design, Woodwork, Metalwork, Catering and Contemporary Issues. The display will be visited by students, teachers and principals from across the ETB. At 11.30 am the display will be formally launched by Mr Paddy Lavelle, the CEO of DDLETB. Two LCA students will talk about their experience of LCA, followed by a speech from the visiting keynote speaker, Mr John Lonergan, former Governor of Mountjoy Prison. Certificates of achievement will be presented to participating schools.
