County Dublin VEC appointed patron of new Lusk Community College

County Dublin VEC has expressed its delight as the newly appointed patron of the proposed new Lusk Community College which is scheduled to open in September 2013. The leading County Dublin schools patron said that the new college will be among the most modern in the State and that it will serve the entire community and the educational needs of young people in Lusk long into the future. 

Dr. Marie Griffin, Chief Executive of County Dublin VEC said: ““We look forward to serving the entire community of Lusk with an excellent new Community College.  Lusk Community College will be established to equip our young people with the life skills and academic background that they will need for the future.   It will be a multidenominational school, with a community based ethos of inclusivity and the highest educational standards. 

“This proposed new school represents a bright new future for Lusk and its young people. As patron, we will bring decades of experience to bear in a modern, positive and inclusive educational environment focussed on academic excellence and the development of personal skills for life and living in modern Ireland.

“Our plan for Lusk Community College is based on our depth of experience in establishing and managing state-of-the-art Community Colleges throughout County Dublin, the most recent of which has been the opening of Donabate Community College.

“County Dublin VEC will support and encourage the involvement of parents, teachers, elected representatives and primary school interests as the key influencers of the college’s future ethos and direction,” said Dr. Griffin.
