New Scoil Niamh Community National School to open in Citywest in September 2012
To be patroned by County Dublin VEC, Scoil Niamh is a State operated multi-denominational primary school which will provide high quality primary education and personal life skills development for children of all beliefs. The school will provide the full National Primary School Curriculum specified by the Department of Education & Skills.
School Principal Séamus Conboy said,  “My vision for Scoil Niamh is to create an educational environment that strives for the highest possible standards, academically and in all other aspects of school life.  To achieve this, each member of the school community will be encouraged to utilise their gifts and talents for the benefit of our children. Teachers, in partnership with parents and the wider community of Scoil Niamh, will endeavour to instil in our pupils a love of life and learning and a deep sense of respect for one and other.”
“Community National Schools provide a vibrant and modern approach to primary education. They are inclusive, multi-denominational and offer a primary education experience that reflects the modern day needs of society.  In doing so, we care completely for the wellbeing and personal growth of the child. Community National Schools have a very strong community focus.  We welcome all children of the appropriate age, respecting diversity while also providing a multi-belief education programme within the school day.  We are also highly focused on quality of service provision, good governance and accountability to the local community.”
Scoil Niamh is a co-educational school that will start off with Junior Infants and eventually grow up to 6th class. It will provide a child-centred education through which the holistic development of the child is paramount.
