Kishoge Community College, Clonburris, South Lucan will open in September 2014 and will cater for 1,000 pupils. County Dublin VEC is the patron of the new school and Educate Together is involved as a partner.
Funded by the Department of Education and Skills, the new multidenominational and co-educational school will cater for the entire community of South Lucan and for the local primary schools in particular. County Dublin VEC and Educate Together have worked together to develop the management structure of the new school. Kishoge Community College will be among the most modern schools in the country and will have a community based ethos of inclusivity together with the highest educational standards. It will foster and support the formation of personal and academic skills which will enable young people to meet their full potential in modern life and society.
As well as the full Leaving Certificate programme, the school will also provide for the new Junior Cycle Framework which will be introduced for all schools in 2014. The latest teaching, learning and assessment strategies will ensure a focus on critical thinking, communication and creativity. Kishoge Community College will also offer an excellent sports curriculum and many other extra-curricular activities.
